Which High-Fire Glaze is Right for You?

We offer many different product lines, each with unique performance properties. To assist new users in selecting an appropriate product, we have provided this overview. The following glazes are intended for use at cone range 5/6 but are also stable and pleasing at cone 10. Can be used in oxidation, reduction or other alternative atmospheric firing conditions. Always test prior to use.

  • Developed to be used in combination with other mid-range glazes to produce flowing effects
  • Creates movement, bringing about “hidden” colors and visual texture
  • Fires from cone 5/6 to cone 10
Flux
  • Use for all over coverage or design work
  • Fires matte without clear glaze
  • Fires from cone 06/05 to cone 5/6 and all the way to cone 9/10
Fundamentals® Underglaze
  • Includes Classic, Matte, Crystal and Gloss glazes
  • A variety of finishes, textures and endless possibilities for glaze combinations
  • Fires from cones 5/6 to cone 10
Stoneware
  • Mayco offers three clear dipping and brushing glazes: Clear, Matte Clear, and Zinc-Free Clear
  • Fires from cone 5/6 to cone 10
Stoneware Clear
  • Transform your mid-range to high-fire clay bodies to your preferred finish/color 
  • Used for a variety of decorative techniques
