Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Trace the pattern on the surface using AC230 Clay Carbon Paper under the pattern.
  3. To make straight lines on the design you can tape off sections of the snowflake. Note: the masking tape will not stick to any of the glaze when it is wet. Repeat as you go along.
  4. Referring to the pattern, apply 3 coats of the Classic Crackle glaze as noted.
  5. Remove the masking tape then retape another section continuing with the listed colors.
  6. Cut out the large snowflake from the DSS0160 Vintage Holiday Screen.
  7. Apply 3 coats of CC102 Whit to the background area of the design except the outer edge of the canvas.
  8. Apply 3 coats of CC107 Green Tea or CC108 Chia Sea to the side edges of the canvas. Allow to dry!
  9. Outline the snowflake using FD254 Black. Allow to dry!
  10. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
  11. To make the crackle pattern show up, to an area apply some thinned OS476 Black to a section at a time then wipe off with a paper towel or cloth.
  12. Do Not Fire!
