Instructions
Casting
- Secure the mold with straps.
- Pour slip into mold and allow to set for 15-20 minutes.
- Pour slip out of mold and allow to set up completely.
- Remove the piece from the mold.
- Clean seams and cut out a hole for the planter.
- Allow to dry completely.
- Bisque fire to cone 04.
Glazing
- Begin with properly fired cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe the bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a soft fan, apply 2 coats of PC-601 Clear Cascades around the opening of the planter.
- Apply 2 coats of EL-121 Copper Adventurine to the entire planter.
- Apply 2 coats of EL-208 Moss Creek to the planter; recede the second coat so that it only goes down about ½ way.
- Fully load the fan brush with PC-602 White Cascades and plop it around the opening of the planter.
- Allow to dry completely.
- Stilt and fire to cone 06.
