Classic Crackles are designed to “craze” or develop subtle surface cracks in the finished glaze to create a vintage or antiqued appeal.
Cone 6 oxidation
Cone 06: Creates a white cracked surface and allows underlying designs to show through.
Cone 6: Finer crackles – does not take ink/stain. Added pink variation. Increased mobility.
TIP: After firing, wipe an acrylic or ink over the ware and wipe off, allowing the ink to fill and highlight the cracks.”
