Flux Swirl Soup Bowl

Instructions

Begin with soft fired stoneware bisque; moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
Fill the writer bottle with SW-401 Light Flux.
Place the bowl on a banding wheel and use the Flux to squeeze a swirl design up from the center of the bowl.
Allow to dry and apply 2 coats of SW-190 Passion Flower tracing up the swirl, be sure to leave some open bisque if you want to create more variation.
Apply 2 coats of SW-196 Sand Dollar to the entire inside of the bowl.
Apply 3 coats of SW-134 Eggplant to the outside of the piece, avoiding the bottom.
Use a clean sponge to wipe the excess glaze off of the foot.
Fire to cone 5/6. (Sample was fired to cone 6).
