“Spin, Drop, and Coat” Wash and Flux Trailing Bowl

Instructions

  1. Begin with soft fired stoneware bisque. 
  2. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.  
  3. Fill an AC-223 Large Writer Tip kit with SW-401 Light Flux. Apply 2 bands of Flux around the edges of the rim. 
  4. Once the Flux is Dry, apply 2 coats of SW-305 Cobalt Wash dots on the bands of Flux using an eye dropper.
  5. Once all of the trailing has dried, use a fan brush to apply 2 coats of SW-129 Copper Float to the inside and rim of the bowl. Apply 3 coats to the outside avoiding the foot. 
  6. Use a soft fan to apply 2 coats of SW-179 Muddy Waters to the inside and rim of the bowl. 
  7. Use a clean sponge to wipe the excess glaze off of the foot. 
  8. Fire to cone 5/6. (Sample was fired to cone 6)
