Leaded Product Announcement
November 1, 2008:Beginning in January 1, 2009 Mayco will begin the phase out of lead bearing glazes from our product assortment. When possible, lead bearing products have been re-formulated to not include the addition of lead. Those products that we are unable to reformulate will be discontinued. For a list of converted and discontinued products, please use the "Conversion Charts" link below.
We will begin implementing the revised formulas when lead bearng stock is depleted. Labels will be modified to denote the change in toxicological status. For instance, reformulated Jungle Gems will ship with a new label that prominently features "Non-Toxic Formula" on the label front.
If you wish to order leaded glazes for use after we discontinue the manufacturing, we will accept orders from our distributors until 12/31/08 for leaded glazes in pint size only. We will continue to manufacture leaded clear glazes in gallon, 3 gallon, and 5 gallon pails until March 2009 at which point they will also be discontinued.
Mayco distributors have been notified and are working with their customers to make a smooth transition. If you are currently using a leaded Mayco product, please contact your distributor or contact Mayco technical service (technical@maycocolors.com) to discuss your options.
