Gallon Can-It Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, transfer the lettering onto the paint can.
  3. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply a thinned coat of SC-13 Grapel around the lettering (this will create a sort of shadow for all of the letters).
  4. Visually divide the ST-352 Jumbalaya Stamp into 4 sections.
  5. Using 2 of the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick, load one sponge with SC-7 Leapin’ Lizard and tap onto a section of the stamp. With the same sponge, apply SC-31 The Blues to the stamp blending it into the SC-7 Leapin’ Lizard. Do the same thing with the second sponge, but using SC-22 Carrot Top and SC-42 Butter Me Up. Once all 4 colors have been applied, gently press the stamp around the bottom of the piece. Repeat until the stamp wraps around the entire piece.
  6. If necessary, use AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper to transfer the lettering onto the piece again to make the lines clearer.
  7. Using a CB-202 #2 Detail Liner, apply 2 coats of each color to the letters. SC-22 Carrot Top for the “r”, SC-42 Butter Me Up for both of the “e”s, SC-7 Leapin Lizard for the “a” and the underline, and SC-31 The Blues for the “t”.
  8. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Mini Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo to the “c” and 1 coat to outline the rest of the letters.
  9. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-036 Grape to the inside of the paint can.
  10. Dip the piece in NT-CLR, avoiding the inside of the can which has already been glazed.
  11. Let dry completely.
  12. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
