Rusty Silkscreened PumpkinSlice

Designer: Marcia Roullard

1.  Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.

2.  Brush on one coat of SS-138 Flat Black with AB-834 Base Coat Brush to the entire pumpkin.

3.  Brush on one heavy coat of MM-106 Steel Metallic to the pumpkin, ecxept the stem.  Make sure to shake well, its important that it is mixed, because the steel particles are heavy and tend to settle.

4.  When the first layer is almost dry, apply another heavy coat of Steel Metallic with an old fan brush (brush should not be used again for glaze).

5.  Attach the MM-600 Spritzer Cap to the bottle of MM-305 Rapid Rust. While the Steel is still wet, spray the pumpkin generously with MM-305 Rapid Rust.  You should start to see results in ten minutes, let it sit over night to dry.  If it isn't as rusty as you would like, mix the jar well and re-apply, and spray well.

6. When dry, place the SL-435 Curlicue Stencil over the flat section of the pumpkin. Use the foam roller to apply SS-138 Flat Black over the stenciled design.

7. Apply SS-288 Bright Green to the stem, allowing some Black to show through.

8. Apply one coat of MM-502 Matte Brush-On Sealer to the pumpkin.
