Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a sea sponge, sponge SC-74 Hot Tamale in a pinwheel of arched lines that radiate from the center of the square platter and reach the outer rim of the piece.
  3. Apply SC-12 Moody Blue to the child's hand and make 4 - 5 handprints that rotate around the center point of the platter. The bottom edge of each palm should touch near the center point of the platter as you rotate the handprints to make a circle with all the fingers pointing outward. Once you've finished the prints, use the end of your paint brush or a toothpick to etch a star at the center point of the platter.
  4. Once you have etched the outer frame of the star, etch diagonal lines inside the star.
  5. Use a dry brush to sweep the "crumbs" away.
  6. Using the sea sponge, sponge a border of SC-12 Moody Blue along the outer rim of the platter.
  7. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner and SC-15 Tuxedo, "write" your little firecracker's name along the bottom rim of the platter.
  8. Using the fan brush spatter SC-15 Tuxedo into the white areas surrounding the handprints.
  9. Using the fan brush, apply 2 coats of S-2101 to the entire plate.
  10. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
